Science!

There's a somewhat interesting interview here with Adam Savage of my new favorite show, Mythbusters.

Also, I would like to comment that if Ross Hays grew a walrus mustache and wore a beret, he could probably stand in for Jamie Hyneman on that show.

I never thought about it, but you're right. If the US government ever had to "take out" Jamie Hyneman, Ross could definitely stand in.

Why is it that Mythbusters is only now your favorite show? Get on the bandwagon, man. There's plenty of room.

I liked the episodes where they were investigating real myths that have been passed down through time. But, I saw the limiting effect of this very early. There are only so many myths that you can test out there. The more recent shows are testing idioms. I thought the test of whether a rolling stone gathers no moss to be a particularly unimpressive one. While I'm as big a fan of explosions as the next guy, I think that it has become a crutch for the show. I feel that at they are eager to try a theory if it will lead to a large explosion, even if it has nothing to do with proving/disproving the myth.

Overall, I'm glad to see more geeks on TV and to learn interesting things like, if your plane's windshield gets hit by a chicken, you'd better hope it's not frozen.

Ok, by "new" I meant "most recent". "Current", even. It's been that way for a while.
