they didn't eat me

I taught my first class in Street Law at Marshall High School today. Thank god I made it out alive.

This is awesome!
Did you ever think that being a lawyer would give you an avenue to teaching? What was your experience? Were you nervous? Were you the serious or funny or informative teacher?

I didn't think I would ever be teaching... least of all at the high school level.
I was very nervous, but I have a class of honor students (yeah inner city magnet school!) that are really engaged and smart. So I think that will make it easier on the disciplinary front, and more challenging in that they will be able to call me out if I'm totally BS-ing them.
I think I'm probably a little more casual than most high school teachers, just because I've never done this before. At least I hope that is the case. It's hard to know.

I meant to tell you, Roberts brought up Street Law during the small segment of his hearing I watched last night. I think complimenting his work in that program was the single civil thing Kennedy said to him.

Kennedys aren't civil before the third scotch.

I bet you were awesome.
Keep off the Kennedys. I love them, drunk or not. They're firebrands!
