I heard about this on NPR this evening. Oh, how I wish it was on mainstream radio. Make sure you listen to the snippets, they're funny :) It's so much better to hear it than to read it.

Mainstream radio? Bah! Get thee an ipod, woman!
I hate to go back the horse with my floggin stick, but this proves to me that if the content is there, people will go to it.
The NPR segment is (at its core) about how the Onion podcast is at the top of the download list for iTunes. There you go! Create something people want and they will go for it. There are commercials in the podcasts, by the way. That's fine with me because I'm getting it for free, and it doesn't overwhelm the actual content.
damn! can't get it to work on this computer... will try tomorrow at work.
